On April 22, 2026, our community stepped out in a powerful, practical way—by showing love to our city through action.
For the fourth consecutive year, Vessel Church partnered with Buffalo Niagara WaterKeeper for an Earth Day cleanup initiative, mobilizing volunteers across Williamsville for a local “Solo Sweep.”
An Evening That Made a Difference
Following the winter season, our team spread out across the Williamsville area to remove litter, restore public spaces, and care for the environment we call home. But this wasn’t just about cleaning up—it was about contributing to something bigger.
Each piece of debris collected was documented, helping gather critical data that supports long-term environmental solutions. That information is used by Buffalo Niagara WaterKeeper to advocate for policy changes and improvements that protect our waterways and ecosystems for years to come.
More Than a Cleanup
As Pastor Alex Jordan shared, this day was about more than just picking up trash—it was about loving our city in a tangible, lasting way.
It’s easy to think of impact as something abstract. But this day reminded us that real change often starts with simple, faithful steps—showing up, serving others, and taking responsibility for the spaces we share.
Preparing for Impact
In the days leading up to Earth Day, we also encouraged sustainable habits within our church community by distributing reusable tote bags during our Sunday service—small changes that can lead to lasting impact.
A Growing Commitment
This year marked our fourth year partnering with Buffalo Niagara WaterKeeper, and each year, the impact continues to grow. What started as a simple act of service has become a meaningful rhythm in how we engage with and care for our region.
And the best part? It doesn’t stop here.
Thank You
To every volunteer who showed up, served, and made a difference—thank you. Your willingness to give your time and energy is helping shape a cleaner, healthier future for our community.
